Reviews
My favorite of all the record stores I visited in Austin.
Great selection across multiple genres.
Super friendly staff and fair prices.
Awesome vintage HiFi equipment room in the back too!
Awesome selection of mixed media and collectibles. Friendly staff. But a little tight on space.
I find at least a half dozen or more of old jazz lps that I want every time I visit. The prices are reasonable, and they not only sell used records but re-issues and new releases also. There have a lot of Rock and Roll, plus some classical and rhythm & and blues/blues. End of an Ear provides a nice atmosphere for browsing records, very low key.
Great selection, found pretty much everything I was looking for. Prices are fair I'd say since vinyl is quite trendy at the moment. Overall good vibes!
Great selection of vinyl (used and new) in all the genres. And the lay-out is conducive to happy digging. I found a grail while shopping there, so maybe I'm biased, but End of an Ear really impressed me. A must if you're digging for records in Austin.
End of An Ear is an amazing record shop! Their used vinyl selection is always good and is pretty active compared to other shops.
They have a great selection of rare vinyls and they don’t try to rip off collectors.
The best part of EoAE is the staff. They are always very helpful when I need assistance. I love going to EoAE and will continue to go there as long as they are doing business!
My absolute favorite downtime activity is walking over to End of An Ear and finding gem after gem in their perfectly curated selection on new and used vinyls! I’ve been collecting for years now and a solid 60% of my collection is solely from this low key spot. Services is always friendly and you’re bound to find something that catches your eye.
I had SUCH a good experience here.
First: I didn’t expect to have such a wide selection of vinyls to choose from. I thought I’d have to order After Hours online, but was pleasantly surprised to see a copy here.
2nd: I just got my first record player, and was having trouble finding good, concise, unbiased information online about speakers and amps. I asked for some advice, and they took me to their sound guy, Sean. This guy was incredible. So knowledgeable, friendly, and unbiased. I probably wouldn’t have bought my speakers and amp there otherwise. He gave me everything I needed and set me up for success. Id give an extra 5 stars for Sean 👍👍
End of an Ear is essentially what Waterloo will never be. It's a place with a community feel without sacrificing a huge selection. (Bonus points, there's actually parking!) Lots of reissues but still a good amount of used(something that can not be said for the aforementioned waterloo). And heck, there's a prog section for crying out loud, that's what got me. This place is organized in a way where you can instantly find the stuff you're interested in, but you can still dig forever. However, since there's a lot of reissues, the prices are a bit higher, but this guarantees pristine conditions 99 percent of the time(so it's not a bad problem to have). On top of this, the used stuff is practically cheap, I bought an album worth 10 for 5.
Moral of the story, this place is what I wish waterloo was, but hey now I can say this place is miles ahead. Definitely will be seeing these crates again soon!
One of my favorite record stores , I visit every time I’m in Austin , good selections and helpful staff
